Mini Review Reincarnation in Ophthalmic Pharmacotherapy

چکیده

Background: Atropine is the most commonly used pharmacologic agent as a cycloplegic and mydriatic. Taken into account current economical burden worldwide, the well-known drugs are “reincarnated’ and repurposed. In this light of view atropine is highlighting new properties and new target in modern ophthalmology. Objective: The objective of this review is to evaluate the evidence and discuss the rationale behind the recent suggestions that atropine may be useful in slowing the progression of myopia opening new avenue of intervention in myopia.
